Just to provide a few updates and clarifications, "Smiter" was renamed to just "Smite", and "Warden" was renamed to "Champion". Warriors have been asking for MT/OT separation since the early days of Classic Vanilla, and that's all Gladiator is providing. Protection vs Gladiator is just about separating main tanks and off tanks in rankings. Also, the article doesn't really get the spec definitions correct. It is, so no clue why Kihra would decide to use that term for warriors. Isn't "Warden" what people call a tank shaman? I have never heard anyone ever call Fury Prot "Warden". This specialization was initially named Smiter, later renamed to Smite. During these encounters, the Priest is doing much more damage than healing, and it wouldn't make much sense to rank these Priests among Shadow Priests, so a new category was created. For some encounters, in raids and dungeons, groups are bringing a Discipline Priest for their utility. The Priest Smite Specialization is for Priests that deal damage and are not Shadow, commonly using Smite. This specialization was initially named Warden, later renamed to Champion.

By creating a new category on Warcraft Logs, Fury Prot Warriors won't be ranked among full Protection Warriors, making it much more fair for each specialization.
"Fury Prot" is a popular build among tank Warriors, gaining much more threat and damage per second, but lacking in some defensive utility. The Warrior Champion Specialization is for Fury Warriors that are tanking.
